When we answer
Hours
We are on the phones Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 5pm, Pacific time. Messages left outside those hours are answered the next morning. If your basement is taking water right now, call rather than email and say it is urgent; that gets a different response than a quote request does.
Before you call
What to have ready
None of this is mandatory, but every item on the list shortens the conversation.
-
Photographs
Photographs help more than anything else: the wet area inside, the wall or floor where the water shows up, the outside of the house closest to that spot, and your downspouts and any catch basin or cleanout you can find. Text them to (604) 210-3892 before you call and we will often know what to load on the truck before we leave the yard.
-
Timing
Timing matters as much as the picture. Tell us when the problem started, whether it only appears during heavy rain, and whether it has been getting worse each season. A basement that has been faintly damp for ten years and a basement that took water for the first time last week are different problems, even when they look identical from the doorway.
-
The age of the house
The age of the house is useful too, because it usually tells us what the drain tile is made of before we ever put a camera in it. So is anything that has already been done: a previous camera report, the inspection report from when you bought the place, a quote from another contractor, or a run of drain a past owner replaced. If a line has already been scoped properly, we can often price the repair without paying to scope it twice.
-
Access
Finally, tell us about access. A gate code, a dog in the yard, a locked crawlspace hatch, parking that fits one vehicle, a tenant who works nights, or a strata council that needs notice before anyone digs. Access is the most common reason a drainage visit takes twice as long as it should, and it is the easiest thing to sort out in advance.
Service area
Where we work
Our yard is in North Vancouver and most of our work is within half an hour of it. Each municipality has its own rules about permits, inspections and what has to be tied into the storm system, so we keep a page for every city we serve:
- Drainage services in North Vancouver
- Drainage services in West Vancouver
- Drainage services in Vancouver
- Drainage services in Burnaby
Being based on the North Shore is not a marketing line. Most of what makes drainage hard here is local: rock close to the surface, lots that fall away from the street, houses cut into a slope with the basement half underground, and rain that arrives as weeks of it rather than an afternoon. Put a municipal permit process on top of that and it becomes a job that goes badly for a crew who only work here occasionally.
We also take work in Squamish and on Bowen Island when the schedule allows. Ask and we will tell you honestly whether we can get there. If the answer is no, we would rather say so on the phone than have you wait a week for a quote that was never coming.
After you send it
What happens next
-
We read it.
Your request goes straight to the people who do the work. A copy lands in your inbox so you know it arrived.
-
We reply within one business day.
By phone if you gave us a number, by email if you did not. If the answer is short, you get it there and then.
-
We book what you actually need.
That might be an inspection with the camera, a firm price off a report you already have, or a straight answer that the problem is a downspout and not your perimeter drains.
Know you need the drains scoped? Book a drainage inspection instead and skip a step.
Before you get in touch
How quickly will someone get back to me?
We answer quote requests in the order they arrive, normally within one business day. Phone and text reach us faster than email does, so if the water is moving right now, call. Every request gets a reply from a person who has read it, not an automated acknowledgement.
Can I send photos instead of describing the problem?
Yes, and please do. Text photos to (604) 210-3892: the wet area inside, the outside wall closest to it, your downspouts, and any catch basin or cleanout you can find. Pictures cut a fifteen-minute phone call down to two and often tell us what equipment to load before we leave the yard.
Do you charge to come out and look?
A drainage inspection is a paid visit because it is real diagnostic work: locating buried cleanouts, running a camera through the perimeter line, and marking the route and depth on the surface. You keep the footage and the written findings whether or not you hire us for the repair.
